During our second stay in Colombo we met a lady who works for the UN-Tsunami-Funding. During breakfast chat we got to know more about the actual situation in Sri Lanka after the disaster. The most destruction was was at the north-east of the island with approximate 70% of the total damage. The south were we traveled was less hit and funding and support came fast. The north is mainly Tamil controlled area and the government used its power to cut of any help until recently. Most funding and according to this lady over funding happened in the south. The UN just stared e few month to give financial support to the north.

This is another struggle in the fight between government and Tamil Tigers. But what ever happen in Sri Lanka and how much both sides will try to work out there differences many people will feel braided on both sides. It’s seems to become every day more harder to solve the country’s urgent problem.
