Wat Rong Khun is a unique temple which filled with delicate details and predominantly in white. It is established by a well-known Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who had accumulated fund over 20 years from selling his paintings. “I intend to create the replica of the magnificent and resplendent heaven.” The artist says. The temple is materialised based on the artist’s imaginaries and vision.

The temple is still largely in construction, from its initial 1.2 Acres of land in 1997, expanded to 4.8 Acres in 2004. Upon completion, within the temple’s area, there will be 9 buildings with different shapes and characters. It is estimated to be fully completed in 3 generations. The artist himself may not live long enough to see its completion.
