I still find Sean’s story about his exile from Korea amazing. He took a train in the middle of the night, traveled from a small town to Seoul, then boarded a flight direct to Singapore and set himself free…

The departure of our world trip was kind of like this. We bought a ticket from Malaysia budget airline Air Asia, departing from Senai airport at 7.30am on Sunday morning. No, we weren’t sneaking out of Singapore, the cheapest airfare puts us in this situation.

As usual, we spent the night of 17 June packing and unapcking, then repacking. At 4.30am on Sunday morning, we parted the house of 123 Meyer Road, boarded on a local taxi to Queens street. It took us only 10 minutes to reach, and the pre-booked Malaysian cab driver was already there waiting for us.

The whole journey was kind of smooth, except our dear Malaysian cab driver nearly had an accident on the big traffic junction between Rochor road and Selegie road, he nearly ran over the RED traffic light. The driver was busy talking at that time, suddenly he stamped break, then I saw cars flying pass us from right to left… and then, Alex screamed out, “It is RED, RED light on our side!!!”

It wasn’t a lot of cars on that Sunday morning in Singapore, but there were road blocks and road constructions every way and cars drove across very speedy. He could easily send us on our journey to heaven or hell though…

When we arrived Senai airport, it was only 6am, far too early. Our luggage was overweight by 11kg, and we paid around RM100 to get it clear. Later I was told that we can actually apply for more luggage weight… Well, a lesson to learn – don’t carry too much possession with you!

No travelling mood yet…
